Red Hanrahan's Song About Ireland was written in 1894. Yeats didn't include it in a collection of poetry until "In the Seven Woods" was published in 1904. The 1877 antiquarian map detail shows the foothills of Knocknarea and Culleenamore in County Sligo which feature in the poem.
