Sligo translates to "shelly place" in Irish. The waves crashing on a Sligo beach, the gradual curve of the tide pushing up the strand, polished to mimic the delicate texture of Atlantic wet sands, and the liquid frill and curves of abandoned shells all inspired this piece.
