Refund policy
Delivery
On receipt of payment, orders are dispatched within 2 working days if the items are in stock. If an item is out of stock, we will contact you with an estimated dispatch date.
Shipping is via An Post registered post, and costs are calculated automatically based on your shipping address and total order value:
- Free Shipping: Worldwide on all orders over €250
- Standard Shipping: €7 to Ireland, €15 to UK & EU, €25 to Rest of the World
A tracking number will be emailed once your order is dispatched.
Earrings cannot be returned or refunded for hygiene reasons.
Handcrafted Items
Many of our pieces are individually handcrafted, so slight variations may occur between the images on the site and the items you receive.
Special or Bespoke Items
- Made-to-order or personalised items are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. This includes Martina Hamilton Rings, as these are all handcrafted to order. However, we do offer one free ring re-size if you need the ring adjusted. Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your ring to request a free resize.

Standard Returns
If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, items can be returned within 30 days of dispatch for:
- A full refund
- An exchange
- Store credit
To qualify for a refund, exchange, or store credit:
- Items must be undamaged and returned in their original packaging
- You must contact us first at shop@thecatandthemoon.ie to notify us of your return and await instructions
Refunds via Shopify
All refunds are processed through Shopify to the original payment method used at checkout. Refunds will appear in your account according to Shopify’s standard processing times.
Returns for Change of Mind
The Cat & The Moon Ltd does not accept responsibility for goods lost or damaged during return shipments due to a change of mind. We strongly recommend that customers insure returns in these cases.
Returns for Defective or Damaged Items
If goods are returned due to defect or damage, The Cat & The Moon will cover the insured return postage. Please contact us before returning any damaged or defective items so we can advise on postage.
International Returns & Customs Charges
For all international returns, including returns from The UK, customers are responsible for arranging and covering return postage costs unless the item is faulty or damaged.
Customers must contact us directly before posting any international return so we can advise on the correct customs declaration and return process, otherwise parcels may result in customs charges, delays, or additional fees.
Any customs duties, import taxes, administration charges, or courier handling fees incurred on returned parcels from outside the EU are the responsibility of the sender and may be deducted from the final refund amount where applicable.
