With its sculpted spiral form, each candle is individually made by hand, highlighting traditional craftsmanship and the beauty of simple materials. Measuring approximately 12.5cm in height and 3cm in diameter at the base, it has an approximate burn time of 5 hours—perfect for creating a cosy, ambient atmosphere.

About the Artist

Beeswax and Rainbow Candles was founded in Ireland almost 40 years ago by Pete Kern, in an old farmhouse just outside the picturesque village of Dromahair in Co. Leitrim.

Originally from Germany, Pete's life in Ireland began in 1983 when he was invited to spend a working holiday helping renovate a friends cottage near Fawn in Co Leitrim. Ireland has been his home since. Rainbow Candles began shortly after he moved here, on an old kitchen-table as a part-time job. Pete realised he might be able to help evolve a love of candles in Ireland to match that in other countries around Europe, where they were very much a part of home life.

A supplier of ours since 1989, Pete is one of Irelands most beloved craft makers, a true pioneer from the vanguard of Irelands contemporary artisan craft era.
