Hand-forged with raw textured organic links which contrast with the high polished front, this sterling silver pendant is designed and created in Galway by Lynsey De Burca.

Named after Sliabh Carran in the Burren, Co. Clare, the design is inspired by the rugged textures and quiet strength of Ireland’s ancient landscapes.

About the Artist

I am a jewellery designer and maker. I live with my small family in the outskirts of Connemara in County Galway.

I design and create beautiful, quality pieces with a minimal design aesthetic inspired by the piers and small harbours along the Wild Atlantic Way.

I am a graduate of NCAD (jewellery)- this NCAD Metals Degree has granted me with a wide knowledge of metalworking- specialising in jewellery making and precious metals and therefore encouraged me to develop my individual craft and design skills.

I continued my education in NUIG obtaining a diploma in Gemmology-this qualification has heavily influenced my work and allowed me to make informed decisions when incorporating gemstones into several collections.

The Gemmology course provided me with an education in laboratory-based techniques used to identify gemstones and also provided me with hands on experience in identification protocols using a comprehensive collection of gemstones.

I have also gathered over 14 years in jewellery, fashion and applied arts retail. Gaining experience in high-end jewellery galleries, applied arts galleries, antique jewellers and fashion boutiques- enabling a strong work ethic with a love for making beautiful things.
