Ebonised dark wood handturned bowl by Fred O'Mahony in Waterford, Ireland. Working away in his studio and workshop which overlooks the River Suir, Fred takes his inspiration from his rural surroundings.

Each piece is designed, created and hand turned by Fred using Irish native hardwoods to create these stunning bowls. Individually inscribed on the base with Freds name, the wood used and when possible where the wood originated from. 
A real piece of craft, to adorn any room in the house, create a talking point on a table, or to use for display.

About the Artist

Originally from Waterford, Fred O'Mahony's studio and workshop today overlooks the river Suir. It's from these sublime surroundings he is inspired to create masterful wood turnings.

Fred has worked with the medium of wood and woodturning for the last 25 years, in the vanguard of craft-makers for this defining era in Irish Artisan Craft.

A member of the Craft Council of Ireland, Fred has championed Irish craft in national and international media and has demonstrated at many prestigious Craft events such as the Lewis Glucksmann Gallery UCC, The RDS Dublin and many more.

Pieces by Fred O'Mahony are hand crafted from Irish Native Hardwoods, each piece selected for its individual character and finished with great sensitivity to emphasize the natural beauty and character of the wood.
