Hallmarked Sterling Silver Pendant, Ogham Inscribed with Grá

This stunningly lustrous solid silver pendant is inscribed with the Irish word Grá, meaning love, in the ancient Gaelic runic text of ogham. Ogham is perhaps the earliest form of written language recorded in Ireland. It was often used to declare tribal chieftains and territories on tall standing stones.

Martina Hamilton has beautifully and honestly embodied the rugged texture of the standing stones that bore traditional Ogham inscriptions, then given it a deeply lustrous and rich high polish finish that is so rewarding to the eye.
