Iconic handmade designer earrings in hallmarked solid gold

Best Jewellery Design winner / Showcase Ireland and Design & Crafts Council of Ireland.

A brand new 2022 addition to our iconic Bean Rí Collection. The beautifully elegant candle flame shape is given an even more fluid eye-catching appeal, by being carried loosely on a solid gold ear wire.

The National Museum of Ireland commissioned Martina to create this collection of jewellery to mark 1000 years since the Battle of Clontarf, a defining event in Irish history, in celebration of the untold contribution of women to the history of Ireland across the ages. The collection was inspired by bronze-age spear heads found in the museum collection, which Martina reinterpreted with a simple quarter twist and texturing, turning the ferocity of a weapon into something of feminine beauty and elegance.

The Bean Rí (She King) Collection is uniquely graceful, its candle flame like lines, a celebration of elegance, and femininity, of passion and strength.

2.9 (H) cm earring / 4 cm Drop on Wire. Hallmarked 9 Carat earring and ear wires.

About the Artist

Jewellery designer, artist and founder of The Cat & The Moon, Martina Hamilton has been creating award-winning collections from her Sligo studio for over thirty years. Her work is inspired by the wild beauty of Ireland’s northwest coast—shaped by light, landscape and a deep sense of place.

Every design begins with her connection to the landscape. The movement of the tide, the texture of stone, the shifting light—all find quiet expression in her jewellery, handcrafted in precious metals and made to be worn, cherished and passed on.
