Lorraine Fletcher's interest in all things wildlife began in early childhood. She carries with her vivid memories of spotting the hares and pheasants darting among the wind bushes in the field across from her home, going for walks as a child gathering berries and once even catching a glimpse of a Kingfisher by the local river. She deeply absorbed the sounds, sights and smells of her native Armagh countryside.

After pursuing a career in design for many years, it was these memories that sparked Lorraine's journey back to art as a wildlife & animal artist. Galway is home for Lorraine now, with her studio situated in The Burren Nature Sanctuary, Kinvara were she experiences an abundance of wild inspiration daily.

Lorraine's work is a combination of influences, an anthropomorphic rendering of human emotions and relationships expressed through the imagery of animals. The tender moments, loving bonds and the importance for human connection are told with a positive message, through colour and no words are needed.
