This McKernan scarf is an amazingly beautiful weave, always a blend of complimentary shades, sometimes subtle sometimes striking, always perfect. Hundreds of chunky, blended threads creating a tweed effect with a grid pattern makes these scarves unique and really eye catching. The use of multicoloured threads, predominantly green hues, makes this scarf interesting. The tassels are hand knotted, and the feel is soft and cozy, perfect for a winters day. Handmade in Co. Clare, Ireland with a vertical hand-warping mill.

About the Artist

After 35 years in business, McKernan Scarves are one of the most established scarf designers and manufacturers in Ireland. Eugene and Anke McKernan, the Irish/German couple based in County Clare operate this iconic family-run business.

Having trained as handweavers quality comes first at McKernan's. Their designs are based on a deep understanding of textiles and the knowledge of how structure, colour and yarn interact with each other to create something of real integrity. All their scarves are reversible, have a perfect edge and drape well. But they also appeal powerfully to the sense of touch, through sumptuous textures, the visual sense by using harmonious colour combinations and the spirit by dreaming up cheerful patterns.
