The soap dish has been designed to sit on small sinks as well as large.  In the simplest possible way, its gentle curve holds the soap up and keeps air circulating beneath.  Sits nicely in the palm of the hand.

Nicholas Mosse Pottery was established by Nicholas in 1976 after periods of training in England and Japan. His mission is to produce beautiful, functional pottery in the style of Irish Spongeware, a traditional form of pottery widely used in Ireland in the 18th Century. It was mainly made in simple honest shapes with a decoration applied with a cut sponge.

About the Artist

Nicholas Mosse is more than a business—it's a labour of love that has thrived for over 50 years. Every single piece of pottery is still produced entirely by hand. The iconic Nicholas Mosse patterns, designed by botanical artist Susan Mosse -Nick's wife and partner - are applied using an age old tradition dating back to the 18th century. Using cut sponges, they individually sponge dab the patterns onto each piece of pottery. Each piece of the pottery undergoes a 20 step, handmade process, and Nick personally trains every individual decorator that works at his pottery

Nicholas Mosse and his team pour care into every piece of pottery they make, creating unique tableware that enhances the joy of sharing food. Whether for a quiet tea, a family meal, or a special gathering, this iconic Irish pottery adds a special touch to every occasion.
