This piece depicts two people that were destined to meet... inspired by words from the American writer R.W. Emerson. It symbolises the journey of life with its many opportunities and encounters, meetings that may bring us growth and development.

Original design carved by Studio co-founder Kathleen Smyth. Created in Ireland by the Wild Goose Studio in Kinsale, County Cork. Inspired the rich Celtic history from the Irish Language to stone carvings and beyond.

Each piece is handcrafted by the makers at the Wild Goose Studio using ceramic resin cold cast pourings polished and finished with pure bronze, encased in a warm grey frame. Perfect gift for those with an interest in Irish Culture and history.

People destined to meet will do so, apparently by chance, at precisely the right moment. R.W. Emerson

Dimensions: 11 x 11 inches (28 x 28cm)

About the Artist

Wild Goose Studio founded by artists Brian Scott-McCarthy and Kathleen Smyth, have created a unique range of cold cast bronze artefacts along with several Irish artists, drawing inspiration from our rich cultural heritage, philosophers and the contemporary world. Adam Grabski, Nadia Corridan, Liz Morrissey, Tom Little, Ken Thompson, Oisín Kelly and Edward Kelly are the incredible artists behind the studios current pieces.

It all starts with the marriage of an idea or meaning with an image. One of their artists carve that image into a sculpted piece, which becomes the original from which they create a mould so they can faithfully reproduce the image in full detail. The production process starts with metal powders such as bronze which form the outer surface of the finished piece and the core is created from a ceramic resin cold cast pouring. Once the piece is set, it is polished to reveal the beauty hidden beneath

The family business is now in its second generation, inventing new creations in the spirit of its founders, honouring the traditions while introducing fresh ideas.
