This is a unique wood and crystal Moon Suncatcher made in Co. Leitrim, Ireland by Emily and her small team at Artwood Designs. Emily uses ethically and locally sourced Irish wood and high-quality Egyptian Asfour crystals.

The angel crystal is made from a 0.75 inch (20mm) Sphere Asfour crystal with Tibetan silver wings, a 0.4 inch (10mm) Asfour crystal head and a Preciosa crystal crown (even tiny fairies wear crystal-encrusted crowns).

When hung in a window the sunlight catches the crystal, which acts as a prism and disperses rainbows all around your room. An ideal gift from Ireland for any age or occasion, for him or for her, for weddings, remembrance, special occasions, new baby, christening gift or baby shower gift, birthdays.

The wooden moon is approximately 9cm long at its longest part.

Because all wood is unique and varies slightly, your exact suncatcher may differ from the above images in this listing. Without a doubt, we will make sure that each and every piece is of equal natural beauty.

About the Artist

Artwood is the innovative creation of Giolla Liddy and Emily Sachs-Eldridge. The Irish family craft business they are so proud of began with a spark - or a sparkle you might say - of inspiration, in 2013.

Giolla worked alongside his father as a carpenter for many years, Emily as a trained organic horticulturist worked at farmers markets selling organic vegetables.

One day Emily brought home a crystal for hanging in their window. It was decorated with some small plastic beads but Emily only wanted the crystal. Giolla looked at the crystal and thought “I could do something nice with that”. He took it out to his workshop and later that evening their first Suncatcher was born.

A trial run of of samples of the new design at the Christmas Market was overwhelmingly positive and in May 2014 Giolla and Emily decided to officially set up Artwood as an Irish family craft business.
