The stunning McKernan signature unique shawl. This is an amazingly beautiful weave, always a blend of complimentary colourful shades, sometimes subtle sometimes striking, always perfect. Hundreds of blended threads creating a violet base with a rainbow floral pattern of warm colours makes these scarves unique and really eye catching. The tassels are hand knotted, and the feel is silky smooth and lightweight. Handmade in Co. Clare, Ireland.

Knit on a fine gauge machine using Extrafine yarns. The yarn from the Japanese Prefecture, Yamagata, is combined with a plain merino wool yarn in a floral patterned tubular knit.

After 35 years in business, McKernan Scarves are one of the most established scarf designers and manufacturers in Ireland. Eugene and Anke McKernan, the Irish/German couple based in County Clare operate this iconic family-run business.

Having trained as handweavers quality comes first at McKernan's. Their designs are based on a deep understanding of textiles and the knowledge of how structure, colour and yarn interact with each other to create something of real integrity. All their scarves are reversible, have a perfect edge and drape well. But they also appeal powerfully to the sense of touch, through sumptuous textures, the visual sense by using harmonious colour combinations and the spirit by dreaming up cheerful patterns.
